Hello World!

Hello World!

Sometimes a simple ‘Hello’ can lead you to a million awesome things! Here is one such Hello!

BitXorBytes brings to you a collection of geeky articles based mostly on Computer science and Programming!

There would be tonnes of cool resources, such as ‘Algorithm Explanations’, ‘World’s Firsts’, ‘Interesting Facts and discoveries’, ‘Monthly quizzes’, ‘Bulletin on Tech giants’, ‘Comparison series’, ‘Latest developments in technology” and so much more!

We designed and developed ‘BitXorBytes’ so that we can create a small abode full of exciting and amazing technical content.

Together, Let us discover all intriguing and geeky things right here!

So, here is your start to a geeky day ahead with these interesting facts!

Let’s start with Alan Turing, there is a reason why he is known as the “Father of Modern Computer Science”, after all. More than six decades after his death, Alan Turing’s life still remains a point of fascination.

Most of us are familiar with “The Imitation Game”, largely based on the life-story of Alan Turning the ‘Code-breaker’.  He cracked codes produced by the German military’s seemingly unbreakable “Enigma-machine” during World War II. But most of the documents tracing his work for the British government have been destroyed and little is known about Turing’s personal life.

In his early life, Turing essentially pioneered the idea of computer memory. In 1936, Turing published a seminal paper called “On Computable Numbers”, which The Washington Post has called “the founding document of the computer age.”

He proposed single-task machines called Turing machines that would be capable of solving just one type of math problem, but a “universal computer” would be able to tackle any kind of problem by storing instructional code in the computer’s memory. Turing’s ideas about memory storage and using a single machine to carry out all tasks laid the foundation for what would become the ‘digital computer’.

Moving-on to more recent advancements, imagine talking to a “Real-Life-Robot”, which can understand thousands of languages, which is capable of Independent Social Interactions, one that is actually a ‘World Citizen’!

Meet Sophia, a social robot created by former Disney Imagineer David Hanson. In 2017, Sophia became the world’s first Robot Citizen, having gained Full Citizenship from Saudi Arabia. She was built to mimic social behaviours and inspire feelings of compassion in humans.

This advanced human-like robot, Sophia, personifies our dreams for the future of AI. Sophia is simultaneously a human-crafted science fiction character depicting the future of AI and robotics, and a platform for advanced robotics and AI research.
